Solid Waste Energy

Particularly in many country, large amounts of trash and garbage are generated and disposal is a major problem. The problem become large because there no enough place to keep this garbage. Every persons, industries trough this garbage to someway and this garbage should be move to other place because can cause many problem on the around the waste. This of solid waste make pollution, ill and plugging on the water drainage, that can cause flooded.

Several cities are now burning trash and garbage to generate steam and electricity. Results appear to be quite satisfactory, although refuse derived fuel (RFD) has been unsatisfactory for some installations. Air pollution must be carefully avoided, but this use of waste is very desirable. On the below are the list of waste materials heating value.

Biogas
One of the energy that sources from waste is biogas, from the biogas process result a methane. Methane can produce from the decay of vegetable matter, was early identified as combustible “swamp gas.” The highly desirable fuel was obtained by fermentation of sewage in Decatur, Ill, as early as 1934 and was used for heating and in internal combustion engines for pumping. Attention is currently focused on methane generation from large cattle feedlots for distribution to towns, on smaller dairy farms it is being used on the farm itself. Several large demonstration plants are functioning well and many units are in daily use. The total amount produced is small but of great significant locally.
